Kurochanwen is fresh talent in the world of pony-sculpting. In December, kurochanwen started sculpting with two simple pony prototypes. It's been a few months since then, and KW has not only produced some lively and ambitious sculptures, but also started developing a distinct and expressive style.
What led you to start pony-sculpting?
"I always look around EQD, and I see all this amazing pony sculpture (most of which is in [ponysculptors]), and for some unknown reason, I just wanted to try sculpting. It took around 4 months to get the courage together and start buying the materials and sculpt."
What do you sculpt with?
"Since I'm still new on sculpting, I don't have any favorite materials - I haven't tried them all! But for now my main arsenal is Super Sculpey + Apoxie Sculpt and really basic sculpting tools."
What's the most challenging part of the pony-making process?
"My biggest challenge is painting. I still haven't found the technique for it."
What was your favorite project so far?
"Fluffle Puff gala dress. It was the least challenging, and it just came out perfect."
Any big plans for future sculpting projects?
"One of the big ones in my mind right now is sculpt a moving sculpture, using ball joints like a figurine."
Do you have any advice for new sculptors?
"Learn to make a proper armature and decent bulking. Those are the foundation, and from there it's just patience and imagination."
Do you sell custom ponies?
"Just ask me!"
Last question: Best pony?
"That would be , the reason being her voice actress, Tabitha [St. Germain], just does an amazing job. I just adore her!!"

7th Anniversary!
7th Year Anniversary!
Our little group is now seven years old!
And the show might have ended but we are not going anywhere! and who knows how many new sculptures the upcoming pony shows and movie will bring us!
And since we in the admin department did not manage to come up with anything special to do for this anniversary we will just do as the previous two years and show of two random sculptures from each folder with finished sculptures!
But first two little rule changes that we decided to do... and promptly forgot to tell anyone about... First of some of you have asked us if we accept sculptures based of characters from "Them's fighting h
Help! *We found one*
So a small group of six sculptors here decided for a few months ago to get together for a semi secret project for the last Bronycon charity auction.
But we have now encountered abit of a problem since one in the group seems to have... disepeared and time is running out.
We now need to find a new sculptor that can quickly make a sculpture in time for Bronycon (August 1st), preferbly someone that is going to Bronycon or is fast enough that he/she/it can finish it and send it to one in the project group or if you happen to know anyone that is going to Bronycon that can deliver the sculpture to us.
So what is the sculpture we are missing? well

5th Anniversary!
Our little group is now five years old!
As you all probably have noticed there will be no grand giveaway this year due to a lack of people willing to giveaway stuff this year, let's hope that more are willing to do it next year!
